I seldom post something personal on this blog, but this is something I want to share. Worldwide there are some great organisations to help education, e.g. the What Works Clearinghouse, the Education Endowment Foundation, Dean for Impact, and many, many more.

Recently I was asked by the Flemish minister of education if I would accept the task of starting such an independent organisation in Flanders, Belgium. I accepted this task.

This means I’ll need to quit my job in Ghent, but I’ll remain a researcher and lecturer in the Netherlands. And yes, I’ll remain writing books and giving talks. And yes, I’ll keep on blogging too!
