There is something going on if you read some recent blog posts on education lately. I want to share 2 examples. There was this post by @learningspy declaring his love for rote learning. And than there is this longread on Webs of Substance on discovery learning, describing it as “one of those movie bad guys that you just can’t kill.” Not that these posts are conservative and want to go back to a period long ago, it’s rather based on insights from cognitive psychology. I would rather want to describe it as a correction in time.
